Static ip assignment
[[/sbin/ifconfig]] eth0 192.168.10.12 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.10.255
troubleshooting:

change hardware address:
sudo ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:...
DHCP give to NIC ad IP 169.254.x.x
interface with address like that -> failure to com with DHCP. check cabling, routing, DHCP server config
ping ip or host alias

eth1: wireless connection
